Exercice 1 
1. My mother has just arrived from a flooded city.  She looks exhausted.  

2. 20 years ago, there were fewer hurricanes  

3. Look at that! The flood has destroyed the city  

4. Strong winds devastated the city centre.  You really can’t go out!  

5. In the 1950’s, global warming did not exist and few victims were recorded.  

Exercice 2 (je n'ai pas vu les verbes à utiliser donc je ne suis pas sûre d'avoir fait l'exercice correctement

When the rescue team arrived, they noticed a lot of damage and had to rescue dozens of victims.  The conditions were really hard with strong blasts of wind still some heavy.   Today when I look at this same spot I can hardly believe it happened here because everything has changed: the trees and flower have grown back and the city recovered all the roads and houses.  They are hiding an earthquake shelter.
